CI Rubber & Packing

Cloth Inserted Rubber that has been reinforced with one or more plies of cloth such as polyester, nylon, cotton or fiberglass fabric. This gives added stability in flanged gasket applications requiring mechanical fastening and reduces creep when there are high compression loads.  The most common CI Rubber gasket material available is C.I Packing – SBR.  This is an SBR elastomer with an poly fabric insert. It is available in a 1 ply or 2 ply fabric. Cloth inserted SBR is suitable for use in hydraulics and where air, water or low-pressure steam is used.
