Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)

PVC is a common, strong yet lightweight plastic, is extremely versatile and offers the most economical solution with first-rate physical properties including: Chemical resistance, mechanical strength and self-extinguishing properties.  It is made up of 57% chlorine (derived from industrial grade salt) and 43% carbon (derived from oil/gas ethylene). PVC comes in two basic forms, ridged and flexible. PVC is most widely used in chemical plants. Panacea® R-3400 can be thermally welded to make a gasket that is a one piece construction gasket.
